A Slo-Pitch tournament will kick off the Canada Day long weekend at Mainprize Regional Park, beginning on Friday, June 28th.

General Manager Michelle Walsh said registration for that is still open.

"We always have lots going on. We're streaming into our busiest month of the year with our grandest weekend coming up," she shared. "Our July First weekend kind of kicks off our summer events."

On Saturday, June 29th, the Slo-Pitch tournament continues, with a Cabaret that evening featuring The Lone Rambler. On Sunday, June 30th, a pancake breakfast will be held in Pederson Place, sponsored this year by the Dr. Mainprize Foundation.

To celebrate Canada Day, the park will host its annual golf cart parade, the Midale Public Library will be on location, there will be bouncy castles on the beach, a market in Pederson Place, and a free barbecue on the beach later that day.

"So if you don't want to come camp all weekend, you can come out for the day and there's lots to see and do, including the fireworks at dusk," Walsh invited.

She said the following weekend will also be busy.

"We have our ever-popular Glow Golf event on July 5th and registration is now open for that, and of course, everybody loves our annual Cornhole tournament on July 6th. We've moved it into July this year, so hopefully we get lots of registration."

Walsh noted, "Sometimes during the week we have lots of different activities going on for people of all ages, including golf, fishing, boat rentals, a local store. We also have a local restaurant, so it's never a bad time to come have a day trip at Mainprize."

For the rest of July, they'll have some beach days, as well as a drive-in movie event coming up.

"The newest thing we brought to the park this year is we've got Access TV Bingo coming, so there will be lots of fun Saturday events, but even during the week we have lots going on.

She added the park is only a short drive down Highway 39, with the turnoff at Halbrite. Registration for campsites can be made through the Let's Camp website HERE.

"We have a great place to come out, even just for the day."
