The City of Weyburn will host Canada Day Celebrations on July 1st at the Weyburn Leisure Centre, which will include a full day of fun for the whole family.

The doors open at 9:30 a.m., and the Royal Canadian Legion Colour Guard will kick off the event with a flag ceremony. At 11:00 the birthday cake will be served, provided by Prairie Sky Co-op.

From 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., the Southeast Advocates for Employment will hold a barbecue with all proceeds going to their organization.

From 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. there will be bouncy houses and Paw Patrol characters for the kids, and free swimming from 12:00 to 4:30 p.m.

"We will have arts and crafts and yard games as well," shared Tina Clay with the City. "We'll have the corn hole out and the Mobile Play Park Trailer will be out as well. So any kind of activities that are typically in there, we might have out for people to try out too."

Clay added the City will be hosting the Canada Day fireworks event at the Exhibition Grounds at dusk.
