The Weyburn Public Library is gearing up to host its spring fundraiser and this time the branch is infusing some added creativity into the book sale event. Branch Manager, Dawn Silver, shares the details.

“We're actually stealing a wonderful idea from Estevan Public Library. They had an art auction, a silent art auction last year to raise additional funds for their programming and we are going to do that this year. The variety we saw at Estevan, everything from a beautiful quilt from a local quilters group, to some really intriguing pictures and soft art like weavings and things like stained glass.  They got a variety of things it was really quite impressive.”

The library will begin taking art and book donations from Monday, April 1st through to Wednesday, April 17th. The three-day book sale will kick off on April 18th and run through to April 20th.

Meanwhile, book enthusiasts can explore the library's ongoing book sale upstairs, with offerings priced at a loonie or less. Additionally, video games are up for grabs at $3 each.

Silver also noted items that do not sell are encyclopedia sets, textbooks, and condensed Reader’s Digest books, however, all other types of book donations are welcome.
