Today marks the official first day of summer.

Sunshine and warm temperatures are in the forecast for the next few days.

Over the weekend we'll see highs reaching 30 degrees, with the possibility of a thunderstorm.

Environment Canada meterologist Bob Cormier reminds everyone to avoid doing outside activities between the hours of 10 and 2 to prevent sun and heat stroke.

He does say though, if you need to be outside, wear a hat, sun glasses and sun screen, and stay hydrated.
