It's an event that comes but once a year: Weyburn's annual Parade of Lights! What better way to get in the holiday spirit than enjoying the creative floats entered by the community? The Weyburn Public Library agrees, while simultaneously adding to the joyful spirit of that evening by organizing the Jingle and Mingle event that is set to take place before the parade begins. Adult Programmer for the Weyburn Public Library, Krista Klemmer, is excited to have the two events coinciding this year.

"It's a great opportunity if you want to take in some holiday stuff before you take in the parade," she said. "They're going to go right by the library, so you can stop by for a Jingle inside beforehand!"

Events planned for the pre-parade party include performances by the Comprehensive School's RISE Choir, snacks and refreshments, and even some holiday themed crafts. To help make sure guests are not rushed to catch the parade, Klemmer said they've strategically planned the night in anticipation of when the floats will make their way past the library.

"We're running everything from 6:00 to 7:00, even up to 7:30, because that's when we think the parade is likely to pass by the library," shared Klemmer. "We will run the crafts and the choir at the same time to avoid interfering with the parade."

She added that there are 75 spots available for both the adult and children's crafts, which should be plenty, but those wishing to reserve their spot are welcome to register now by calling 306-842-4352. Snacks will be provided by a local caterer, with apple cider and iced tea available for refreshments.

"We want to invite everyone out to join us," said Klemmer. "There's something for all ages! Come by and share the festive spirit!"
