Once again, the Weyburn Red will host the Alumni Golf Tournament. This year, golfers will be ready for a shotgun start at 1:00 PM at the Weyburn Golf Course on September 17th. 

Nick Nielsen, Office & Public Relations Manager shares the details of the day, “Our golf tournament is our Annual Alumni Golf Tournament, it’s a Par 3 tournament, so every single hole is going to be a Par 3 and there is a chance at a $10,000 payout on every single hole if someone hits a hole in one. There also are going to be prizes of $100 for each and every hole for whoever can hit their shot closest to the pin. And we are also going to have a Silent Auction and Auction afterward that will have a bunch of sports memorabilia, a couple of trips out to British Columbia, and much more. It’s going to be a big fundraiser once again for the Red Wings this year.” 

The golf course is full of Red Wings supporters taking in a few rounds of golf before the season closes and this year, they hope to sell out the event, Neilson explains “We can take up to 36 teams total, 140 golfers total and things are going well with a lot of people already coming in. We are going to have prize payouts for the top 3 teams again this year.”
