As always, it was a packed long weekend at both of the Regional Parks in the area over the long weekend, with overnight campers in overflow spots at both Nickle Lake and Mainprize Park.

"We've been very fortunate that our July and August long weekends were completely full," said Manager at Mainprize Regional Park Michelle Walsh. ''We've had some extremely great weather out here this summer. I know it's been a little bit dry, but it's been great weather for people to hang out outside, just enjoying the outdoors."

She said they have more events coming up this summer, with Halloween in the Park on Saturday afternoon (more to come on that), a Cornhole Tournament coming up later this month, and movie nights running all summer.

"We do put out a monthly calendar, so our August calendar is live since August 2nd," she noted. "It actually shows a combination of what our events are and then also our golf nights, too. So we kind of try and make it all inclusive so that everybody can see what's going on in the park and what each day holds and book their time out here accordingly."

Walsh added they are also now on Instagram under the handle @mainprizepark and they love seeing people tag them on their adventures. Find them on Facebook HERE, and their website HERE.
