It was a busy weekend for Weyburn minor hockey teams, with a tournament for U9 teams taking place in town, a number of games on the road, and games at home as well.

The U18 AA John Hulbert Construction Wings played two games at home on the weekend. Saturday, they entertained the Notre Dame Argos. The Wings would dominate the game from start to finish, putting 48 shots on goal en route to a 4-0 victory. 

Matt Sexsmith, Lane Batters, Morgan LaCoste and Kegan Ksenych scored in the win for the Wings. Adam Charlton turned aside all 15 shots faced to earn the shutout between the pipes. 

Sunday, the Wings took on the Estevan Bruins at Crescent Point Place. Estevan took an early lead and held on to pick up a 4-3 victory.  

Sexsmith scored once for the Wings, with Noah Kopec adding a pair of goals in the loss. 

The U18 AA Wings are back in action Wednesday when they take on the Notre Dame Hounds in Wilcox.

It was a road trip for the U15 AA Whitecap Gold Wings, as they headed to Prince Albert for a pair of games against the Foxes on the weekend.  

In the game Saturday, the Gold Wings would find the back of the net three times in the third period to secure a 3-2 victory. 

Ella Schenher, Julia Durr and Payton Birnie all scored for the Gold Wings in the win. Kiera Barker got the win in goal. 

Sunday afternoon, the Gold Wings would finish the first period with the lead, but then the Foxes came back, picking up a 6-2 victory. Kamryn Kish and Durr scored in the loss.  

The Gold Wings will be back in action on February 13th, when they travel to Regina for a game against the Rebels.

The U13 AA Young Fellow Wings were at home Sunday, taking on the Yorkton Terriers. The Terriers would capitalize on 61 shots on goal to skate to a 6-1 victory. 

The lone goal for Weyburn was scored by Bennett Weger in the second period. 

The U13 AA Wings will return to the ice on February 9th, against the Royals in Regina.

The U13 AA Young Fellow Gold Wings entertained the Swift Current Wildcats for a pair of games on the weekend.  

In the game Saturday, the Wildcats would take the lead in the first period, and held on for a 4-1 victory. Arora Lasko scored the lone goal for the Gold Wings in the loss. 

Sunday would see the Wildcats again take an early lead, holding on for a 6-2 victory.  

Laso and Mersade DeClercq scored the goals for the Gold Wings in the loss.  

The U13 AA Gold Wings are back in action on February 12th, against Western Prairie Thunder.
