The deadline has been extended for an Easter fundraiser.

This Easter can be made special for children while helping out the Weyburn Humane Society, with the 'Egg My Yard!' fundraiser.

Not only will there be a chance to have treat-filled plastic eggs hidden throughout participants' yards for their children to find, they can also have a photo taken with the Easter Bunny.

"We'll come deliver the eggs, and then there's also a little opportunity to have the Easter Bunny come back to your house and have a picture with the children that have been looking for these Easter eggs," explained Fundraising Committee Co-Chair, Korryn Kubashek.

She said the delivery days are April 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th. Time slots are for mornings or afternoons.

Prices are 20 eggs for $25, 30 eggs for $35. Photo visits with the Easter Bunny are $10.

"The parents can take a picture with their cell phone and then they can have a memory of the Easter Bunny coming and visiting with them."

"We're raising money to go towards the shelter's everyday needs of cat food, cat litter, every daily aspect of what the shelter needs to provide food and shelter to the animals," she noted. "So all the money that is raised will go right back in towards the shelter."

Kubashek said booking will be on a first-come, first-served basis and will close on April 5th.

"It's the first time doing it and we're pretty excited to bring it to the city of Weyburn, and so we're hoping it's a huge success."

Contact Korryn at 306-861-2519 to arrange to have them 'egg' your yard.

"Just make sure that if you're planning on wanting to get in on this, you call right away, so you have your spot booked," she added.

The WHS shelter currently has 28 cats, which is four over capacity, as well as 11 dogs and 13 puppies, which is 14 over capacity. Below are photos of some of the animals currently residing at the shelter:
