Christmas morning brings floors covered in paper, ribbons, and bows. In fact, the entire holiday season means more necessary recycling, but it can be confusing to know what is and isn’t recyclable.

“Well, for Christmas if you would like to be more recycle conscious, I would strongly recommend going more to the paper wrapping, versus the metallic wrapping paper, that is not recyclable, as well as bows, things like that can’t be recycled,” said Nicole Gagne, Regional Sales Representative, Goliath Disposal. “Any of the boxes even the pre-packaged boxes that you buy are all recyclable.”

Gagne also shared that unfortunately most Christmas tree decorations are not recyclable, other things that are not recyclable include artificial Christmas trees, and garland.
