One of the highlights of the Saskatchewan Oil & Gas Show took place yesterday over the lunch hour, and then in the evening, with the presentation of several prestigious awards, recognizing outstanding contributions to the industry.

Six individuals were inducted into the Southeast Saskatchewan Legends: Dean Gilliss, Dean Lemieux, Paul Cheung, Jim Baker, Darcy Cretin, and Jim Larter. Weyburn Oil Show Board chair Dan Cugnet praised their dedication and impact on the oil and gas industry in the region, highlighting their 25+ years of service in Southeast Saskatchewan.

Ryan Birnie was honoured with the Laurence M. Woodard Southeast Oil Person of the Year Award for his significant contributions to the industry's growth and success. Trevor Pandachuk and Jim Hutt received the Ron Jeffery Friend of the Show Award for their unwavering support of the Saskatchewan Oil and Gas Show.

The semi-annual Oil Person of the Year Award, presented by the Saskatchewan Oil and Gas Hall of Fame Committee, was awarded to Del Mondor for his significant contributions to the Saskatchewan oil industry over more than 30 years.

Two distinguished individuals, Myron Stadnyk and Brad Wall, were inducted into the Saskatchewan Oil and Gas Hall of Fame for their outstanding contributions to the Canadian and international oil industry.

The Southeast Saskatchewan Legends and Saskatchewan Hall of Fame inductees were celebrated during a luncheon on June 5th, while the Ron Jeffery Friend of the Show, Laurence M. Woodard Southeast Oil Person of the Year, and the Saskatchewan Oil Person of the Year awards were presented during the evening supper.
