There’s always lots happening on Father’s Day weekend thanks to the Weyburn Sooline Cruisers (WSC) Show and Shine event. Weyburn’s downtown core will be once again filled with vehicle enthusiasts who will be sharing their automotive love.

As the event is free to attend, it’s not clear how much foot traffic Weyburn receives during the Show and Shine event. However, what we do know is every year approximately 250 to 280 vehicles are on display and people from well outside of the Weyburn area make a special trip to enjoy the excitement.

Every year the Sooline Cruisers use the event to give back to one non-profit organization.

“This year we picked the Weyburn Caravan Society. They're doing their fundraising for a new minivan, so we're going to help them out. A portion of our profits that we make will be going to them,” said Trev Sealy, President of WSC.

While the event is free to attend, this year the WSC are asking the public to bring non-perishable food items which will be donated to the Weyburn Food Bank, a very worthy cause as the food bank goes through approximately 10,000 pounds of food a month.

Participants can register for the Show and Shine on the day of the event, Saturday, June 17, downstairs at the Weyburn Legion for just $10. While this show is their biggest event of the year, the WSC will be busy all season with Thursday night Cruise Nights, and coming this September is the second annual Parts Trade Show.
