The U15 AA Annugas Wings threw everything they could at the net during their game Sunday against the Moose Jaw Warriors. The strategy paid off, as seven of their 54 shots would count, giving them a 704 win over Moose Jaw.

Evan Guest got things started for the Wings just 18 seconds into the game His goal, assisted by Justin Whitrow and Langston Gold, would set the pace for the game.

While the Warriors replied with 4:48 to go in the period as Elijah McFadden scored, Weyburn came roaring back to regain the lead and build on it.

Gold would score a goal of his own with 3:41 remaining in the first, assisted by Guest and Whitrow. Then, just under 90 seconds later, Brody Morrice would score to make it a 3-1 game. His goal was assisted by Ryder Gilroy and Kaleb Sheasby.

In the second period, Moose Jaw would answer back just 53 seconds in. Riley Bender would make it a 3-2 game as he scored a power play goal. It wouldn’t take long for Weyburn to reply, though.

Sheasby would restore the two-goal lead just 39 seconds after the Moose Jaw goal, assisted by Brennan Brown. Then, with 7:22 remaining in the second, Wade Franks made it 5-2 Weyburn. His goal was assisted by Guest and Whitrow.

Moose Haw would reply with one more goal to close out the busy second period when McFadden notched his second of the game, making it 5-3.

In the third Weyburn would expand the lead to 6-3 as Guest scored his second of the afternoon on the power play. His goal, at the 6:20 mark, was assisted by Clay Chinski and Sheasby.

Moose Jaw answered back with a power play goal of their own late in the period as Kohen Millar scored, but the Brown put the game out of reach with 2:27 remaining. He was assisted by Whitrow and Gilroy.

With the win, the Wings improve to 7-12-1-2 on the season. They will be back in action on Friday as they head up to the Saskatoon area for a trio of games over the weekend. The road trip will start in Warman with a matchup against the Wildcats.
