A room at a local motel was taped off by the Weyburn Police Service after a call from staff last night.

“We had received a call from the hotel in that area and reported that there was an individual that had been in there for the last couple of days that they hadn't seen, and there were also some dogs in the room,” explained Weyburn Police Chief Jamie Blunden. “So, we went down, and we located a deceased individual in that room, and so as a result of that, we’re doing an active investigation.”

The dogs that were in the room were taken to the Weyburn Humane Society to be sheltered for the time being.

No further details have been released by the WPS regarding the case, including the causes and circumstances of the death.
