The Weyburn Humane Society's fundraising team has been in full force selling raffle tickets for their 'Save a Dog, Drive a Bronco' raffle, and with things like a pop-up mini donut sale today on the corner of Douglas Road and Birch Drive, near Elks Park.

Fundraising Committee Co-Chair Korryn Kubashek said they're also holding a gathering next week for those who may be interested in volunteering with the WHS.

"We are holding a fundraising meeting on May 29th at 7:00 p.m. at the Travelodge in Harry's Room. We're asking any volunteers that would like to come out and are able to assist us with any times that we need volunteers for barbecues, weddings, doing pop-up donut sales, etc.," she noted. "Anybody who wants to please come down, or reach out to us and get your name on the list. Call 306-861-2519 to get on our volunteer list."

She said they always have a lot of fun and it's a great way to meet new people and help support the animals.

Board members were also out selling tickets over the weekend, at the corner of Souris Avenue and Government Road, and they had the Ford Bronco on display, which will be raffled off in August. Tickets are $100 each and the funds go toward the new building in the works for the shelter. Read more HERE about the raffle, and HERE about the new location.

But who doesn't love mini donuts?

"We've been actually, it's a new fundraiser for us, and it's been doing very well. We've been very successful with doing our pop-up events, and today we will definitely be over by Elks Park, just pop by and grab some donuts," she invited. "They're selling really good. And it just helps with another way of supporting the Weyburn Humane Society."

Kubashek added they have plans so far to work at four barbeques this summer.
