Two people are facing charges after the Weyburn Police Service’s Criminal Investigations and Drug Enforcement Unit executed a warrant Wednesday. The search warrant was executed with assistance from WPS patrol members, the Joint Tactical Support Team, and the Estevan Police Service Drug Enforcement Unit. In addition to a property in Weyburn, the police also searched two vehicles as part of the warrant.

Police say they found indications of drug trafficking, as well as firearms. The firearms included a non-restricted firearm and a shotgun that had been modified to make it illegal.

The suspects, 31-year-old Tiffany Martin and 29-year-old Ryley Mantei, both of Weyburn, are charged with trafficking cocaine, possession of a prohibited firearm, possession of a firearm without a license, unsafe storage of a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and possession of property obtained by crime.

Martin has been remanded into custody, and Mantei was released for a future court date with conditions.
