For well over 20 years the Weyburn Independent Riders have fundraised for the Weyburn Salvation Army by Hosting the Annual Food Run and Santa Parade. In past years, it was known as the Annual Toy Run but due to the increase in demand for the Weyburn Food Bank, this year in place of toys, the Salvation Army is requesting non-perishable food products.

“What we're doing is asking people to donate some food. And as in past years, Santa Slay and my motorcycle and me will be sitting at Walmart. On Thursday and Friday, September the 7th and 8th, and we're asking people to buy a canned good or boxed good or whatever and help fill the sleigh and we'll donate it to the Salvation Army,” said Laurie Norman, member of the Weyburn Independent Riders.

On Saturday, tradition will continue with the Santa Parade which will kick off at 1 PM at the Legacy Park Elementary School. From here, Santa will lead the parade and will finish in River Park.
