The Weyburn Wildlife Federation held their annual Mainprize Fishing Derby on Saturday, March 2nd

In all, 44 anglers attended, 34 adults and 10 youth, and a total of nine fish were caught over the course of the afternoon.    

Kaden Hilts won for Biggest Pike weighing in at 4.67 pounds, and the Youth Biggest Pike was caught by Jacob Hahn. Ken Kopeck won for Biggest Walleye, 0.62 pounds, and the Youth Biggest Walleye was caught by Maci Stainbrook. Biggest Perch was caught by Michelle Severson, the Youth Biggest Perch by Joel Benson.

The winner of the 50/50 draw was Vanessa Stainbrook, Hidden Weight Winner was Kaden Hilts, and Ernest Wiggins caught the first fish of the event.

While the weather was good, the snow did begin to fall near the end of the event.
