With today being July 1st, a number of festivities are being held to mark Canada Day.

The day started off with the colour guard and O Canada at the Spark Centre, followed by the serving of a cake for Canada's birthday, then events for children of all ages, including bouncy houses, the Mobile Play Park, and more.

Out at Nickle Lake, there was the bike parade in the morning, with a market set up by the paddling pool. The sites are all decorated for Canada Day, and a smoker cook-off, the Souris River Smoke Show, is taking place today and tomorrow.

The fun continues into the evening, as more events are planned. This includes a family movie at the curling rink, presented by the Weyburn Agricultural Society, followed by fireworks.
