Local youth can look forward to playing some hoops this winter with Weyburn Youth Basketball. The program is run by dedicated volunteers and registration is now open for grades one through six, Southeast Coordinator, Raeanne Galvin gives the details.

“We opened registration, and it closes on January 14th and it's for grades one through six. Families can register their children and we sort them into their age groups, and we have volunteer coaches. In the end, grades three, four, five, and six will have a tournament in which they play against teams from Oxbow, Southey, Bengough, Ogema, Gladmar, and Fillmore.”

Galvin shared that the kids would practice once a week at Legacy Park Elementary School with the season ending with a tournament on April 20th and 21th.
