It was another busy weekend for senior hockey in the southeast, with games in the Notekeu Hockey League, the Big Six Hockey League, and the Milestone Flyers and Yellow Grass Wheat Kings Junior C squads in the Qu’Appelle Valley Highway Hockey League.

The weekend in the NoteHL started Friday night with the Hodgeville Huskies traveling to Gravelbourg to play the Hornets. Four goals in the second period helped lift the Huskies to a 5-4 win. Dalton Menke, Jadon Manske, Carter Lamotte, Cole Gaucher and Kyle Colwell scored for the Huskies, while Ryan Boire, Davyn Gauthier, Loic Pouteaux, and Manoc Pouteaux replied for Gravelbourg.  

In Rouleau, the Ramblers were looking to pick up their second win of the season, but the Coronach Merchants had other ideas, as they shut out the home team 4-0. Chris Bartlett, Kyle Bouvier, Karsen Elder, and Riley Skarbon scored for the Merchants. Dakota Foley picked up the shutout in goal. 

In Yellow Grass, the Wheat Kings scored four in the first, and four in the third en route to an 8-3 rout of the visiting Avonlea Arrows. Judson Christopherson scored twice, with Mackenzie Rogal, Riley Knoll, Todd Johnson, Zach Douglas, Ethan Klebeck, and Preston Shupe also finding the back of the net. Kyle Kvisle and James Dombowsky replied for the Arrows.  

Saturday, the Ramblers traveled to Gravelbourg to play the Hornets. The game would go to overtime, where Loic Pouteaux scored the game-winner for the Hornets. Also scoring for Gravelbourg were Drieden Gauthier, Joe Jansen, and Dryden Smith. Triston Sorenson scored twice for the Ramblers, with Steven Schemenauer also tallying in the loss.  

The last game of the weekend in the NoteHL saw the Merchants pick up a big 7-2 win over Yellow Grass at home in Coronach. Kyle Bouvier had a hat trick in the win, with Randy Stowe, Tristin Rousseau, Karsten Elder, and Kurtis Bartlett also scoring in the win. Replying for Yellow Grass were Jonah Regier and Judson Christopherson.

In the Big Six, the weekend kicked off Friday with the Redvers Rockets hosting the Kipling/Windthorst Oil Kings. The Rockets would take an early lead, and hold on for a 5-2 victory. Travis Poirier, Presten Kopeck, Declyn Henderson, Jordon Miller, and Drew Hoff all tallied for Redvers, with Wyatt Balogh and Austin Fleck replying for the Oil Kings.  

In Carlyle, the Cougars would score early and often, hitting double digits in a 12-3 rout of the Midale Mustangs. Ben Johnstone and Josh Romanyk had hat tricks in the win, with the other goals coming from Adrien Riddell, Nikita Kovalenko, Marc Shaw, Jon Gaudet, Valdez Bear, and Dakota Rose. Sterling Bear scored twice for Midale, with Tyler Spencer also chipping in a goal.  

Friday night ended with the Carnduff Red Devils topping the Huskies 5-2 in Oxbow. Ben Hiltz had a hat trick for the Red Devils, with Matthew Plews and Ty Stovin also scoring. The replies for the Huskies came from Liam Rutten and Cody Davis.  

Saturday saw the Mustangs hosting the Wawota Flyers in Midale. The Mustangs would hold off a late surge by the visitors to pick up a 7-5 win. Braxton Dukart scored twice for the Mustangs, with Tony Kinistino, Brayden Bjorndal, Devon Johnson, and Jonas Thomson also bulging the twine. Phil Fath, Wyatt Nixon, Ayden Lawless, Drady Dinwoodie, and Nolan Murray scored for Wawota.  

Saturday saw a rematch between the Huskies and Red Devils, this time played in Carnduff. The Huskies took a lead into the third period, but Carnduff rallied back on home ice for a 4-3 victory. Nico Anderson, Justin Hollinger, Mark Moriarty, and Matthew Audette all scored for Carnduff, with Alex Von Sprecken, Ty Paton and Liam Rutten replying for Oxbow.

In the Qu’Appelle Valley Highway Hockey League, the Junior C Wheat Kings traveled to Odessa for a game against the Emerald Park Wizards Friday night. The Wizards would get the win at the neutral site game by a final of 9-3. Taylor Johnson had a hat trick for the Wizards, with Ethan Keown, Dylan Fayant, Logan Cappelle, Karden Schutz, Riley Stamm and Brytten McLeod also scoring. Hugh Nestor, Braden Weare, and Andrew Altwasser scored for Yellow Grass. 

On the senior side, the Milestone Flyers picked up a 5-3 win over the Bisons in Balgonie Friday. Morgan Gallais, Shayde Peterson, Brandon Halbgewachs, Cody Hegion, and Matthew Kesslering scored for the Flyers in the win, with Jacob Piller scoring twice for the Bisons, with Matt Coupal also finding the back of the net.  

Saturday, the Flyers entertained the Raymore Rockets, but it would be the Rockets coming out on top with a 4-2 victory. Zachery Moore, Chaston Sare, Landon Linnen, and Austin Linnen tallied for Raymore. The goals for Milestone came courtesy of Shayde Peterson and Dawson Diekgrager.
