The Christmas Season brings with it the cherished local tradition of the Festival of Trees. Celebrating its 24th year, The Family Place is gearing up for yet another impactful fundraising event.

According to Executive Director Dawn Gutzke, “It's our biggest fundraiser and we literally rely on it to help us get through the year.”

At present, The Family Place is welcoming donations of Christmas Trees and items for their silent auction. Gutzke added, "If you're wishing to help us out this year and donate something, you can drop it off at The Family Place 744 McClellan Street or we'll gladly come pick it up.”

Dawn also revealed that this year's event will be hosted at a new location. “The tree viewing is going to begin on November 23rd, and they will be set up for a full week out at E. Bourassa and Sons in their beautiful showroom, and they'll be up on display right until November 30th from 9:00 to 5:30 each day.”

Last year, the combined silent and tree auction garnered just under $50,000, an impressive sum vital for sustaining The Family Place's operations.

For this year, the setup of the trees will commence from November 20th to the 22nd, between 9:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Tree viewing will begin from November 23rd and run until November 30 which is when the online tree auction will begin.

The silent auction will run from November 23 and will close on November 29.

To donate you can call The Family Place at (306)842-7477.
