An armed robbery in Weyburn early Tuesday morning.

The Weyburn Police Service reported a person wearing a mask entered the 7-11 store on the east side of the city just before 4:30 a.m. while holding a knife. The suspect is said to have intimated they had a gun as well and demanded money from the store employee. They then fled the store with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police were called after the suspect left the store and they responded immediately. Police say they do have one person in custody in connection with the incident. They also have had assistance from the RCMP K-9 unit.

The incident remains under investigation.
