The action in the Saskota Baseball League gets underway Tuesday night, with the Weyburn Sun Devils taking to the field at Tom Laing Park against the Carnduff Astros. The game is one of five on the schedule for opening day, with just the Southeast Diamondbacks not in action for the day.

The other opening games for the season on the agenda have the Moosomin Badgers hosting the Redvers A’s. The Carlyle Cardinals travel to Kipling to play the Ryals. The Estevan Wolves make the trip to Oxbow to face the Chiefs, and the Arcola Threshers are at home against the Kenosee Cubs.

This is the second season in the Saskota Baseball League for the Sun Devils. In their first season last year, they finished second in the regular season standings. They would be eliminated from contention in the playoff tournament, with the Carlyle Cardinals going on to win their fourth consecutive league championship.

The regular season goes through until July 16th, with the Jack Harbourne Memorial trophy championship tournament being held from July 26th to 28th.
