It was a busy weekend for senior hockey in the southeast.  

Notekeu Hockey League 

Friday 

  • The Glentworth Thunder travelled to Gravelbourg Friday night and came away with a 3-0 shutout. Miguel Marit earned the shutout, with Cam Schafer and Ryan Brisebois scoring.  
  • The Assiniboia Rebels entertained the Hodgeville Huskies and picked up a big 9-0 victory. Dakota Helland had a hat trick, with Kyle Hall also chipping in two goals. Braydon Delorme, Zack Evans, Travis Marit and Jacob Eger also scored for the Rebels, while Spencer Bushell had the shutout. 
  • The Avonlea Arrows came away from Yellow Grass with a narrow 7-6 win over the Yellow Grass Wheat Kings. Kashton Janzen scored twice for the Arrows, with the other goals coming from Kyle Kvisle, Rylan Neiszner, Josh Jelinksi, James Dombowsky and Eric Howe. Todd Johnson and Burke Johnstone had two goals each for Yellow Grass, with Zach Douglas and Kyle Mryglod also tallying.  

Saturday 

  • The Wheat Kings were in Coronach on Saturday to play the Merchants. Coronach would come away with an 8-1 win. Kyle Bouvier scored twice with Karsten Elder, Carter Bartlett, Tristin Rousseau, Dallas Knudson, Alex Hicks and Mason Fischer also contributing. The lone goal for Yellow Grass was from Matthew Daunheimer. 
  • The Glentworth Thunder needed a shootout to skate to a 5-4 win over the Hodgeville Huskies. Riley Wilson scored twice in regulation for Glentworth, with Ryder Smith and Jadon Manske also scoring. Hodgeville had goals in regulation from Hadley Bouffard, Ryan Brisebois, Brady Starke and Beau Larson. Three of the four shooters for Glentworth found the back of the net in the shootout to get the victory. 
  • The Assiniboia Rebels followed up the win Friday with a 6-3 victory over the Arrows in Avonlea. Braydon Delorme had a hat trick, with Bryce Hall and Erik Paradis also scoring. The goals for Avonlea came from Stuart Holland, Mark Jelinski and James Dombrowsky.  
  • The Radville Nationals routed the Rouleau Ramblers 9-2 Saturday night. Codie Nagy had a hat trick, Clinton Pirio scored two goals, and Brady Blackmore, Rhett Labbie, Grady Bjork and Gavin Doud also scored. Cruz Petruic and Triston Sorenson replied for the Ramblers.  

Big Six Hockey League 

Friday 

  • The Kipling Windthorst Oil Kings picked up a big 9-1 win over the Wawota Flyers Friday night. Devin Stewart and Lucas Fleck each had a hat trick, with the other goals coming from Austin Fleck (2) and Tyler Krausher. Ayden Lawless had the lone goal for Wawota. The two teams also combined for 212 penalty minutes.  
  • The Carlyle Cougars doubled up the Oxbow Huskies 8-4. Jesse Gabrielle and Tanner Froese had two goals each, with Brett Turgeon, John Romanyk, Branden Lequyer and Koby Morrisseau also scoring. Cody Davis had two goals for Oxbow with the others coming from Alex Von Sprecken and Kale Martens.  
  • The Redvers Rockets with a crucial victory over the Moosomin Rangers on Friday. Braeden Magotiaux, Jorden Enger, Presten Kopeck and Daylin Smallchild all scored for the Rockets. The goals for the Rangers came from Bud Holloway, Monty Driver and Tyson Jamieson.  

Saturday 

  • Saturday, the Carlyle Cougars got their second win of the weekend, beating the Wawota Flyers 5-3. Ben Johnstone, Josh Romanyk, Marc Shaw, Jon Gaudet and Tanner Froese scored for Carlyle. Ty Brown, Ayden Lawless and Brady Dinwoodie replied for Wawota.  
  • The Carnduff Red Devils picked up a 9-4 win over the visiting Midale Mustangs on Saturday. Ty Stovin found the back of the net twice, with the other goals coming from Kody Martin, Brandon Trask, Trey Stocker, Ben Hiltz, Kody Gibbs, Mark Moriarty and Kelby Minshull. The goals for the Mustangs were from Dallas Kickley, Braxton Dukart, Steven Lindenback, and Connor Hanson. 

Sunday 

  • Sunday, the Rockets got their second win of the weekend, beating the Bienfait Coalers 8-2. Brady Gaudet and Carson Henrion scored twice each, with Braeden Magotiaux, Kenton Miller, Presten Kopeck, and Daylin Smallchild also finding the back of the net. Wyatt Garagan and Kaelen Holt tallied for the Coalers.  
  • The Mustangs would find the win column at home Sunday, beating the Kipling Windthorst Oil Kings 6-2. Brayden Bjorndal scored twice, with Brad Tomiski, Devon Johnson and Tyler Spencer also scoring. The goals for the Wheat Kings came from Thalon Kress and Brandon Munro.
