The Soo Line Cruisers are hosting their 3rd annual swap meet on September 9th. They invite the community to join them at the Weyburn Curling Club between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., with food by Low Brow BBQ on site. Jason Hill, member of the Soo Line Cruisers, says that the annual meet has grown steadily since its conception.

"It started in 2020 and just kind of grown from there. We've got guys coming from farther away and bringing more interesting stuff. Things like car parts, antique coins, antique furniture. It's pretty neat when they bring out stuff you didn't know existed anymore."

Participating vendors pay $20 per spot, along with an additional $10 if they require a table, while those coming to browse the selection of items and search for a deal have an entry fee of just $5. Hill explained that these fees are collected to fund future community outreach events by the Cruisers and contributes to their donation fund for organizations or individuals of the community in need.

"Really what we want is anything to do with antiques. If you have them, we'll let you in! Automotives, motorcycles, snowmobiles, if you want to even bring a trailer of stuff to park outside, that's great. We won't charge you for that." Hill says that you can contact his brother to become a listed vendor; "You can call Mark Hill at (306) 861-2878, and he will be able to answer any questions you have about becoming a vendor, or help you set up a table at the swap meet."

"We're really glad to have Low Brow parked outside serving food again this year," shared Hill. "Even if people aren't coming to the swap meet, he usually gathers a good crowd there. He does good business, good food, we actually had him out at the Mall after a Thursday night cruise and he did great that night too."

"Come out and take a look, because you never know what you might find. There could be that diamond in the rough that you've spent years and years looking for, but show up early because it could be gone before you get there!"

The swap meet begins at 8:00 a.m. at the Weyburn Curling Club on Saturday, September 9th. $5 entry for browsers, $20 entry for vendors with an additional $10 for a table. Low Brow BBQ will be serving food outside, and the doors will close at 6:00 p.m. that evening. Join the Soo Line Cruisers that day and discover hidden treasures from the past.
