Southeast College announced in a media release that Dean Loberg, M.ED. B.ED. B.SC., has been selected as the new Vice-President, Academic and Teaching and Learning. Loberg will begin his new role on July 4th, 2023.

The media release said that Loberg was born and raised in Saskatchewan. Gordon "Dean" Loberg has been an educator for over 17 years. He has had the pleasure of working in the K-12 system in Public, Catholic and First Nations systems, as well as working in Post Secondary education for both Saskatchewan Polytechnic and the University of Regina. He has spent much of his career working on Educational Technology, Change Management and Leadership.

In addition to his familiarity with the Southeast, Loberg has many connections locally, provincially, and internationally. Through his work with Indigenous communities as well as newcomers, he has developed an appreciation for the diversity and traditions of our communities.

Southeast College's President and CEO, Dr. Vicky Roy, stated that, "Loberg's experience in K-12 and post-secondary education makes him an ideal candidate for this strategic academic position. Having a background in educational technology and a deep understanding of the Saskatchewan education system, he will be a valuable addition to the College's vision of becoming more responsive to partners and communities in the region."

"With his knowledge of the Southeast Saskatchewan region, Dean will be a valuable addition to the College's leadership team. The College, the executive team, and the communities we serve will all greatly benefit from his experience.”
