Why not have some fun this Saturday while helping out a local boy?

The Friends of Isaiah fundraising crew will be looking to stock their event with patrons as well as vendors for a trade show this Saturday, September 30th from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., for an all-day event going into the evening's Movie Night. Read more HERE.

It will all be held in the Weyburn Agricultural Society's Exhibition Hall, and will include bouncy houses, taco-in-a-bag at the concession, and a silent auction that will conclude after the movie.

Hopfe Transport will also be on the scene with their trailer to continue collecting donations of refundable bottles and cans. Read more HERE

This is all part of the ongoing effort to help seven-year-old Isaiah Evans get his medical transport van.

"There are many things we take for granted every day. Traveling safely with your child down a busy highway should not be one of them," commented Shannon Seitz with Friends of Isaiah.

"This is the reality for one Weyburn family. Every time Ken and Jenelle Evans have to transport their son Isaiah, who lives with complex medical needs, they must risk his safety because his wheelchair can not be accommodated in a standard vehicle. On long trips to the [James Pattison] Children's Hospital in Saskatoon, which happen quite frequently for the family, they must lay Isaiah across the bench seat to accommodate his medical needs."

Seitz noted that earlier this year, the 'Friends of Isaiah', a group of family, friends, and caregivers, started a campaign to raise $100,000 to purchase a medical transit van for the family.

"With this van, Isaiah can travel safely to visit his medical team in Saskatoon and get out to community events and potentially travel on a family vacation with much more ease and peace of mind."

The fundraising effort has seen many events held over the last few months.

Now, silent auction items are being accepted for this Saturday's event.

"We would gladly accept items of any kind, gift certificates for products or services, baskets of goodies etc.," she said. "Every single item collected will be appreciated more than you will know. Isaiah would definitely give you a big Super Hero-sized thumbs up!"

Drop-off and pickup times for the Silent Auction begin Thursday, September 28th, between 4:00 and 7:00 p.m., for which texting 306-861-5446 to arrange a time will be required. Then, on Friday, September 29th, between 4:00 and 7:00 p.m., donations can be dropped off at Weyburn Agricultural Society Exhibition Hall, or between 8:00 and 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 30th, prior to the start of the auction.

For those who are unable to support the cause in this way, there are still other ways to help, such as by liking their Facebook page and sharing fundraising events, or joining the daytime event (even if it's just to stop in and browse the auction and trade show, or purchasing food from the concession), and attending the movie that night.
