On Thursday night, shortly before 10:00 p.m., the Weyburn Police Service responded to a train on vehicle collision that occurred on Queen Street, near Highway 39.

The two occupants of the vehicle were able to flee before the train struck, and there are no reported injuries.

The train was approaching the intersection of Highway 39 and Queen Street when a southbound vehicle became stuck on the tracks. It is believed that a combination of snow and ice on the tracks are what caused the vehicle to become stuck, and the approaching train did not have enough time to stop.

The matter is now under investigation by the Canadian Pacific Kansas City Railway Police, and there is currently no additional information available.
