It was a busy weekend of minor hockey, especially for the Gold Wings across all age groups. Saturday was even dubbed Gold Wing Day by Hockey Weyburn, with all of the AA programs, and the U18 AAA team, in action on home ice.  

Here is a quick recap of the games, where the scores are available, for Hockey Weyburn teams from the weekend.

The season got underway on the weekend for the U11 division of the SaskFHL. Both of the Weyburn teams in the league were in action to start the campaign off, as was Milestone.  

The Milestone Flyers opened up the season Friday, taking on the Estevan Bearcats. Estevan would come out on top, winning 9-6. Saturday, the Flyers travelled to Weyburn to play the AtoMc Gold Wings. The two teams skated to a 4-4 draw. The weekend wrapped up with the AtoMc Gold Wings playing the Weyburn DQ Blizzards on Sunday. The Gold Wings would win by a final score of 6-2.

The U13 AA Young Fellow Wings were on the road Saturday, travelling to Swift Current for a matinee matchup with the Broncos. Swift Current would jump out to an early lead, and hold on for an 8-2 victory. 

Sawyer Treble and Jackson Gerry had the goals for Weyburn in the loss.

The U15 AA Whitecap Resource Gold Wings were at home for a pair of games on the weekend. Saturday, they played the Prince Albert Foxes and followed it up with a game against Regina Rebels White Sunday.  

In the game Saturday, the Foxes would score four goals in the first period, then hold on for a 5-3 victory. Haven Bourassa, Peyton Birnie and Payton Roth all tallied for the Gold Wings in the loss.  

Sunday, the Gold Wings scored first, but the Rebels would answer back and hold on for a 5-2 win. Birnie scored both goals for the Gold Wings in the loss.

The U18 AA Aaron Well Servicing Gold Wings were on home ice in Midale Saturday night, playing the Northwest Sharks. The Gold Wings would take a 3-0 lead, and hold on for a 3-2 victory.  

Talyn Johnston, Beau Chisholm and Reegan Chicoine scored in the win for the Gold Wings.
