The Weyburn Razorbacks will take to the floor at home for the first time in franchise history tonight. The team, in their first season in the Prairie Gold Lacrosse League, entertain the Regina Barracudas at Tom Zandee Sports Arena.

“It’s going to be a wild one tonight,” said Matt Dalton, head coach of the team. “We’re pumped to see the community and the fans come out to get behind our players and our athletes, and it’s going to be a big game. It’s going to be fast-paced, lots of action, and it’s going to be a good time.”

The Razorbacks have drawn on talent from across southern Saskatchewan, with the line-up including players from Standing Buffalo, Moose Jaw, Estevan, and Weyburn itself.

“Local lacrosse down here in the south has really done well for us here,” Dalton said of the skill level found here in the southern parts of Saskatchewan.

The Razorbacks are looking for their first win of the young season. They were in Prince Albert for a pair of games against the Predators on Saturday. The Predators, who are also the defending PGLL champions, took both of the games.

The game starts at 7:00 p.m. at Tom Zandee Sports Arena.
