A southeast family is hoping to raise funds for an important cause.

A fundraiser for STARS air ambulance will be held this Sunday, June 16th at the Goodwater Community Hall.

Breakfast will be served from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m., with payment by donation. Any donation over $10 will be provided with a tax receipt.

Organizer Sheila Thackeray said the Goodwater Community Hall has donated the space, pancake mix has been donated by P&H, Western Prime Meats has donated the sausage, and Ebenfeld Farms Inc. has donated the double-yolk eggs.

"We thank them! This allows 100 percent of any funds made to go directly to STARS."

"Our son was in a horrible accident back in 2022. STARS had to come. Along with them, and all the first responders and volunteer fire departments, SaskPower, we will be forever grateful."

She said their family decided they wanted to give back to the life-saving organization.

"So last year we held our first Pancakes for STARS. It was a success! There are so many families we know in Weyburn and the surrounding area that have had to use STARS," shared Thackeray. "It is an important and vital service to our area. Having this breakfast is a way to thank them for their service and help to keep them flying in case others need them."
